"I am currently a second-yea...r student double majoring in Health Administration and Human Resource Management. When not in class, I serve as a Peer Leadership Mentor to first-year students through the Department of Leadership & Experiential Learning. The inspiration for my paper was to examine how and why gender-based pricing operates in subtle ways in our consumer society, notably after witnessing this occur with children's toys. Because this pricing policy affects both genders and can be examined in all stages of the average consumer lifespan, I hope that after reading my paper, more people are aware of how retailers target consumers and its implications on gender, using #genderpricing to call out instances in real-time."
